Hello
Class of 1966-67 and all 60's Van Nuys High Alumni,
In the
immortal words of John Belushi "Toga! Toga! Toga!"
In
the any excuse for a party tradition of the 60's we are having a Winter
Toga Party!
And like our
Sports Nights of our youthful past, it is "open" to all and
any who wish to
mingle with
friends old and new from Van Nuys High.
February
9th might be
a little chilly for Toga wear (so optional attire), but the food will be
warming and plentiful
and catered
from one of the finest restaurants in Sherman Oaks, Carnival.
So come for
the Great Food, but stay for the Party!
The menu
is well tested by the locals and rates quite high in taste and quality.
We will have a
variety of appetizers, salads and main dishes plus
dessert such as:
Grape Leaves,
Humos, Baba Ghanoug (Baked eggplant, marinated with lemon juice and garlic),
French Feta Cheese, and tabouli salad topped with Falafel Balls.
Labneh Yogurt Salad, Mouskaa Vegetables, Mediterranean Salad, and Fatoush
Salad
(Parsley,
cucumber, onions, bell peppers, tomatoes and radishes, mixed with lemon, sumac,
toasted pita bread and olive oil.)
Chicken Kabab,
Jumbo Shrimp grilled with garlic and cilantro served with tahini
sauce, and Humos platter
served with tender small pieces of lamb and pine nuts and our fresh pita bread. Baklava,
Riccota sweet cheese rapped with shredded filo dough, As usual it
will be BYOB, but keep in mind the Mediterranean
theme....wine, beer, and we will have a blender and be sharing. Guess the
drink list is the same no matter what the theme. If any profit
is made, it will be given to the VNHS Alumni Association. 5151
